I am fairly new to guitar, been playing fo around 9 months so take that into consideration with my questions I want to ask. It looks like the patterns only deal with the chromatic scale. Is that correct and if so is there a way to use it to play the penatonic scale? Can you give more info on what the book has in it, in addition to what is posted on the web.

Thanks
Tim

As to your question: The pattern shown in the book and on the site does include the pentatonic scale if you take out what I like to call the "diagonal". If you remove the notes that sit along that line, you'll see pentatonic.
The book shows you how to solo this pattern (and, therefore, the pentatonic as well) all across the fretboard without getting lost using an entirely visual technique (rather than note names like F#, etc). It then does the same thing for chords. Finally it reinforces how the chords and the solo go together. Given the two insights, one should be able to find and move through all the chords and solo notes that are to be found any and everywhere across the fretboard without getting lost. That is my quickest way to describe the purpose and content of the book in this one sitting. If you have any more questions, fire away! I'd love to explain.
Hope to hear from you again,
Fred
